Cinepals

Cinepals is a vertical social network designed exclusively for film enthusiasts. The platform combines comprehensive film databases, user review systems, discussion forums, and gamification elements (badges, achievements, leaderboards) to create a highly engaged community where cinephiles discover, discuss, and share their passion for cinema. Papagan Creative Studio was engaged to build and execute the community growth and marketing strategy for Cinepals. This required a deep understanding of film communities—from casual movie fans to serious cinephiles—and the platforms and channels where they congregate online. We implemented social media strategies across platforms where film audiences are active, created content that sparked discussion and debate about films, and developed community management processes that made the platform feel vibrant and welcoming. Our approach recognized that niche communities succeed through passionate advocates, so we invested heavily in early community building and highlight programs that celebrated user-generated content and discussions.
